Semester accompanying language courses (German) in winter semester 2024/25

Registration:The registration deadline for the semester-long courses in the winter semester 2024/25 is from 20 September to 20 October 2024.

Venue: The language courses (German) in the winter semester 2024/15 will take place as semester-long weekly courses in face-to-face classes on site at HCU, Henning-Voscherau-Platz 1.

The semester-long courses, like the intensive courses during the lecture-free period, comprise 45 teaching units (UE) per course.

Registration takes place via the portal of the °ÄÃÅÏÖ½ðÍø_°ÄÃŶIJ©ÏÖ½ðÍø-¹ÙÍø Adult Education Centre. The registration phase for the intensive courses in September 2024 begins on 15 August 2024 and ends on 7 September 2024.

The following documents are required for registration:

• Certificate of enrolment
• Proof of previous language knowledge: As proof you can submit, for example, the certificate of a previous course (not older than 12 months).
• If you do not have a certificate from a previous course, you can submit the result of a free placement test (screenshot, scan), for example the online placement test from Cornelsen.
• You do not need a level certificate for a beginners' course A1 or A1.1.

Please note:

• Be sure to use your HCU email address when registering. Otherwise you will not be identifiable as an HCU student.
• Courses will only be held if the minimum number of participants is reached.
• Registration is only possible via the portal of the Adult Education Centre °ÄÃÅÏÖ½ðÍø_°ÄÃŶIJ©ÏÖ½ðÍø-¹ÙÍø.
• If you have successfully registered, you will receive an invitation by e-mail no later than one week before the start of the course.

* Students of HCU as well as visiting students of HCU have priority in the allocation of places.

Please note: The payment recipient is VHS °ÄÃÅÏÖ½ðÍø_°ÄÃŶIJ©ÏÖ½ðÍø-¹ÙÍø!
Please do NOT transfer the amount to HafenCity University (HCU).

Please note!
Payment for language courses directly to HCU °ÄÃÅÏÖ½ðÍø_°ÄÃŶIJ©ÏÖ½ðÍø-¹ÙÍø is not possible. Payment is only possible via the account of the Bildungskontor of the °ÄÃÅÏÖ½ðÍø_°ÄÃŶIJ©ÏÖ½ðÍø-¹ÙÍøer Volkshochschule (see above).

Certificate

• Upon successful completion of the language course, you will receive a certificate of achievement (PDF) from the °ÄÃÅÏÖ½ðÍø_°ÄÃŶIJ©ÏÖ½ðÍø-¹ÙÍøer Volkshochschule.
• You will receive the certificate of achievement
  • if you have been present for at least 80% of the course duration,
  • have completed additional coursework (e.g. term paper)
  • and have successfully passed the finale exam.

Credit Points / ECTS

• Participation in a language course can be recognised as academic achievement.
• You will receive 4 ECTS credits for a course of 45 teaching units, provided that you
  • were present for at least 80% of the course duration,
  • have completed additional coursework (e.g. term paper)?
  • and have successfully passed the final exam.
